Wermers Properties, a leader in premier multi-family apartment development, has broken ground on the development of a 6-acre site located at the corner of Elk Lane and First Street in Santa Ana, California. The mixed-use project will include 603 apartment homes and commercial space along First Street. The unit mix is comprised of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom units, in addition to live-work spaces with ‘shopkeeper’ style units.
Located adjacent to the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park, the project will make a significant contribution to the revitalization of the Prentice Park neighborhood. The development project will feature natural streetscape elements that blend with the building’s architecture – connecting the residential community with the neighboring Prentice Park. The new residential and commercial development will transform the neighborhood by providing pedestrian connections between the existing neighborhoods and nearly an acre of a central courtyard space.
